Why are they called Soul Readings?
I remember when I was diagnosed as dyslexic in high school, people would often ask me, “What’s it like?” The only answer I had was “I don’t know but this is how my brain works.” A felt sense of knowing is what comes through when I call a psychic reading a “soul reading,” (for sure it is also a psychic reading), but there’s something special about the soul. Humanity has debated for so long about what it is, what is our soul, and where did it come from?
With that idea, the offering of a reading has been of utmost respect for me. The respect and care for another’s soul are a part of my channeling process. That process also includes offering ways in which we can come back to the sacred knowledge that helps myself and whoever I am giving the reading to, speak to the work we are coming back to knowing. That this idea of intuitive or psychic gifts aren’t mine, but meant to be squared with others.
The idea of a soul reading, to me, is best presented within an analogy. The idea that if your entire life was written within a book, where we are now, in this moment, sits in a sentence of a paragraph of a chapter. It’s hard to see the forest for the trees as they say, it’s hard to stop and take a moment in life to see where we are. That’s what a soul reading can do. It can take a moment to pause, place a bookmark on the page, and maybe catch a moment to review the characters, the plot, the setting.
Do the chapters make sense so far? Does a part of the setting need to change? Sometimes we don’t know. In the writing world, we might have a writer’s “block” lets say. I would personally argue that we do know, we do have a way of knowing something might not best serve us, a relationship, or a career. These soul readings are a way to make that knowing transparent for you to see.
In a certain sense the rest of the book hasn’t been written, editors change story lines all the time. In films the post production team changes, cuts, edits after they’ve wrapped all the time. A soul reading can be your editor, helping clue you in to how you are feeling about the plot points, and what might need to change. It can offer guidance around where things might need to look different, or affirmation that the characters and story line are headed in the right direction.
Above all else, my intention is the hope that a reading will let you know your fullest potential, and the ability to trust your story.
