What’s my routine for a Soul Reading?
I often have people asking me how to prepare for a Soul Reading and what they might need to bring or do. There’s so many ways we can prepare for something; I often relate Soul Readings to meditation or to athletes preparing for a game. They often have to practice, utilizing different techniques, listening to mentors or their understanding of the game to play the sport well.
I dedicate time in my days by meditating, praying, or practicing mindfulness. For athletes that might look like strength training, or cardio workouts. I am focused on similar, albeit spiritual, processes. I spend every day in some sort of practice or form of what I might consider spiritual growth or enrichment. This can occur in many forms, while on a walk in the park, through intentional conversation with someone in my village, or by setting aside time for meditation and prayer.
This has become a way for me to break into truthfulness and community - the core values of my business. These are some pillars that support my centering in my day to day. This flows into the readings that I do and the centering I hope to invite into my work.
One of the items I appreciate from athletes is the discipline that also comes forward. This creates the practice of knowing ourselves and knowing what might help us feel prepared. I have people ask if they should write things down, before or during a reading, or if they should think about what they want to discuss. The experience gets to be yours, so whatever might help you feel prepared.
Afterwards, I enjoy taking some time to myself, whether that’s in nature again, going on a walk, or spending some time in prayer. I enjoy taking the time for gratitude for the experience, and for the person joining me for the reading. Know that this is a bit of how I practice, and you might find yourself in some of these experiences, or may want to find something that fits you.
